Caroline (the first of a trilogy)

I thought it would be fun to write an entry on each of my kiddos because I get so many questions on how they are different and would love to highlight them individually.

Caroline:

Caroline was on the bottom of my upside triangle during pregnancy a/k/a Baby A. I felt her move the last because she was so low. She then spent 8 weeks tickling my full bladder and doing somersaults. She was born first and weighed 3 pounds 14 ounces.  Everyone noticed her huge, gorgeous eyelashes from birth. She went home with her brother after 18 days in the NICU.  She was our angel when Townes cried so much during the first 6 months. She was very laid back and happy to sleep while the others were the squeaky wheels. She needed the least amount of attention. Anyone could pick her up and she was fine. No stranger anxiety for once!

We would soon discover that she is a huge firecracker in a 21 pound, tiny package.  Although quiet during her first year, she would emerge to become headstrong and stubborn.  She LOVES to dance. She can break it down with the best of them to every type of music.  The Thomas the Train theme sends her into an instant dancing frenzy. She loves to sing along with Praise Baby DVD's. She moves her eyes around like a sullen teenager when disciplined. She'll be rolling them soon! She'll approach a forbidden object (the DVD player) and touch the outer side, look at us for our response, then go closer and closer. She is responsible for my realization that babies do and can understand when they are doing wrong.

She loves to make us laugh. Her current fave is to place items of clothing on her head and run around the room giggling hysterically. Another is to hide in curtains and pop out with a peek a boo. At school, she is already known as the class clown.

I have the hardest time with her when she did cry because she was so complacent in the early months. At times, she was actually the most challenging baby. With teething, it has become worse but we're hoping to get those molars in asap and be done with it. Her immune system takes the hardest hits, especially with the RSV we caught earlier this year.

We love Caroline so much and are thankful every day that God gave us the chance to be her parents.

Here is the special video Nate made when she was first born:
